Good Faith Estimate

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your care will cost.

Health care providers are required to give people who are uninsured, or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy. This applies to anyone at Sage Path Counseling Center who is paying privately or using out-of-network benefits.

What you are entitled to

• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency services, including psychotherapy.
• You can ask for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, and at any point during your care.
• If you schedule a service at least three business days in advance, we will give you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within one business day of scheduling. If you ask for one, we will provide it within three business days.
• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
• Keep a copy or a photo of your Good Faith Estimate.

How this works here

Sessions at Sage Path Counseling Center are $155 to $175, depending on the service and the provider. Because therapy is ongoing rather than a single procedure, your estimate will reflect the expected frequency and length of your care based on what we discuss together, and it will be updated if your treatment plan changes.

The free fifteen-minute consultation is a good place to ask about this. We will walk through what you can expect to pay before you commit to anything.
